Storytellers Cafe

Wellington Storytellers Cafe is the home of storytelling in the capital.

Originally set up in a local café in the early 1990’s by well-known teller and facilitator Mary-Alice Arthur, the Storytellers Café is currently held monthly at the Wellington Arts Centre, 61-69 Abel Smith Street.

Stories are aimed at an adult audience and as well as a guest performer there is usually an opportunity for short stories to be shared from other tellers.

There is a regular email notice that advertises guests and other storytelling events.

The Storytellers Café has an entry charge of $5

This is the best $5 entertainment in Wellington and you get coffee, tea and munchies to boot!
